Overview
Created as a personal passion project, this series celebrates some of Britain’s most recognisable football stadiums using a bold, minimalist illustration style. Rather than focusing on the action on the pitch, each poster captures the distinctive architecture and identity of the grounds themselves, transforming familiar landmarks into clean, contemporary pieces of artwork.
The collection features a range of stadium exteriors and iconic viewpoints, each carefully illustrated using scalable vector graphics and a restrained colour palette that reflects the character of the club and its surroundings.
My Approach
Each illustration began with photographic reference material to accurately capture the proportions and architectural details of the featured stadium. The designs were then simplified into geometric vector shapes, removing unnecessary detail while retaining the instantly recognisable features that make each location unique.
The collection includes illustrations of:
- Rangers – Main Entrance, Ibrox Stadium
- Motherwell – Phil O’Donnell Stand, Davie Cooper Stand & Ticket Office
- Motherwell – Floodlight
- Celtic – Jock Stein Stand
- Newcastle United – St James’ Park Skyline
By combining clean composition, subtle textures and carefully selected colour palettes, the posters aim to evoke the atmosphere and heritage of each club while maintaining a consistent visual style across the series.
The Outcome
The finished collection showcases my passion for both football and illustration while demonstrating the versatility of vector artwork across architectural subjects. Designed as high-resolution print-ready posters, the series highlights my ability to simplify complex structures into bold, visually engaging compositions without losing their identity.
