Overview

Football Legends is a personal illustration project exploring how iconic football personalities can be represented through minimalist design.

Inspired by the popularity of contemporary minimalist artwork, I created a series of vector-based posters celebrating players from my childhood, focusing on capturing their identity through simplified shapes, colour palettes and recognisable visual elements.

The first collection features Kevin Keegan (Newcastle United), Shay Given (Newcastle United) and Matt Le Tissier (Southampton).

Approach

The challenge was creating artwork that remained simple while still being instantly recognisable. Each illustration was carefully developed using geometric shapes, colour selection and composition techniques to highlight the personality and playing identity of each player.

The project allowed me to explore:

• Vector illustration techniques
• Composition and layout
• Colour theory
• Visual storytelling
• Digital artwork creation

Outcome

A growing collection of football-inspired minimalist artwork combining my interests in design, sport and digital creativity.
