A801 Roadside Litter Analysis Campaign
Turning community action into meaningful environmental insight.
Overview
Following a large-scale roadside litter pick along the A801, Levenseat partnered with local authorities and environmental organisations to analyse the waste collected and communicate the findings to a wider audience.
Working alongside internal colleagues, I helped document the waste analysis before producing a short campaign video that combined photography, video, motion graphics and animated statistics into an engaging story for social media.
Rather than simply showing the litter pick itself, the video focused on what the collected waste revealed about littering habits and why collaborative environmental initiatives like this are so important.
My Role
I was responsible for producing the final promotional video from a variety of assets captured throughout the campaign.
This included:
- Filming the waste sorting process at Levenseat’s facility
- Editing together footage from multiple sources
- Incorporating professional photography captured during the litter pick
- Creating animated statistics and motion graphics
- Structuring the narrative to explain the findings clearly
- Producing the final video for social media and digital channels
The Challenge
The campaign involved several organisations, each contributing different material throughout the project.
Rather than documenting the litter pick itself, the objective became telling the complete story, from community volunteers collecting roadside waste through to Levenseat’s detailed analysis of every bag.
The final edit needed to transform a large collection of footage and photography into a concise video that remained informative, engaging and suitable for social media audiences.
The Outcome
The finished video demonstrated how collaboration between community groups, local authorities and industry can generate valuable environmental insight.
Using a combination of live footage, photography, animated graphics and data visualisation, the project communicated the scale and composition of roadside litter while reinforcing the importance of recycling, prevention and partnership working.
